Texas is an outstanding son of Ch Lionhounds Pride of Baltazar, Zuri and Lionhounds Kiki Neema (own daughter of the #1 and #2 UKC GNN Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the USA . This cross was superiorly bred by the Top 10 kennel, The Lionhounds Kennel. They have been breeding and showing top Ch, Gr Ch, Int Ch and Int Gr Ch Rhodesian Ridgebacks for conformation, movement, agility, obedience and companions for over 35 years. The owner herself is National, and was an International UKC Judge for many years.

Texas is an excellent example of pure refinement and selective breeding strategies. He is a tall and lean Ridgeback (still not mature), yet, he weighs in at 95 pounds and about 28 inches at the shoulders. He still has a ways to go.

This beautiful Ridgeback has excellent movement with a beautiful, springy gait with wonderful cadence. He shows the same excellent qualities as his half brother Hemi. Side to side, they look almost identical except their age and eyes-those beautiful eyes.

Texas exhibits a very loving and gentle spirit. He is very giving but brave and confident in the way he expresses himself. He is one of our companion RRs, as is most of our pack. He is loving with all the other Ridgies, is extremely athletic and enjoys swimming our 2.5 acre pond. He would do very well in the show ring we have been told, but, we do not show so he will be loved and bred for what we know is greatness (exhibited by his tremendous show lineage of amazing conformation, obedience and agility stock).

Texas and Annika have produced beautiful, well-made and handsome puppies in their first litter. He is producing high quality conformation, beautiful well-formed ridges and outstanding personalities. He is proving to be a precious and wonderful producer that will most certainly help improve the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed of tremendous courage and strength.
